About the workshop

Traditional craft, modern care

Adelaide Timber Boatworks was born from a lifelong passion for wooden boats.

Based at the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron, we specialise in the restoration, repair and construction of timber vessels, from small dinghies through to substantial long-term restoration projects.

Our work is guided by respect for the original craft, the timber itself and the owners who care deeply about their boats.

Why the right hands matter

Built around longevity, not shortcuts

Good timber is finite. The boats that have survived for decades have done so because someone built them properly in the first place.

Our role is to continue that standard. Whether we are repairing a small section of damage, restoring a tired vessel or building something new, the aim is the same: give the boat its best chance at a long future.

  • How a project runs

    A considered, honest process

Most projects begin with an inspection. From there, we assess the boat, the work required and whether the project is the right fit. Timber boat work often reveals more as it progresses, so we keep owners informed and involved as decisions are made.
